Braveheart for the Single

Ask him, and he may say no.

Don’t ask him, and he won’t reject you.

But years from now, alone in your retirement home,

Thinking back on today,

Would you be willing to trade all of those lonely days

Between now and then

For one chance

That he may say yes.

How easy is it to miss someone? I don't know, but it seems to me that if one is in a retirement home regretting not asking someone something, that their life has been a bit... shallow. I get the idea... me just curious.

Implying that this was the one biggest regret. That other than living and dying alone, they had a full life. You ask a adult, and they will only list for you a few regrets. And to have missed the road for a life companion that would have filled them all the more, is a large regret.
